Senior High School Promotional Guidelines

Minimum requirements to be placed in grades 10 through 12 are as follow:

To Be Placed in GradeThe Student Must

Gifted Program

Gifted students can enroll in the school's Challenge program and/or take advanced placement courses, such as those offered through St. Louis University, University of Missouri at St. Louis, Missouri Baptist University and St. Louis Community College.

For students with special educational needs, Mehlville Senior provides an IEP diploma, "Class Within A Class," and Phase I and II programs.

Vocational Classes

Vocational classes available include COE, Industrial Technology and full- and half-day technical programs in conjunction with the Applied Technology School of St. Louis County.

A+ Schools

Mehlville High School is one of Missouri's A+ Schools. In order to be eligible for the financial incentives of this program, a student must be certified as an A+ student by MHS. To qualify, the student must meet the following A+ guidelines:

  • Enter into a written agreement with MHS and have attended a designated A+ School for at least three consecutive years prior to graduation.
  • Graduate from MHS with a cumulative grade point average of 2.5 of higher.
  • Perform 50 hours of unpaid tutoring.
  • Maintain a record of good citizenship and avoid the unlawful use of drugs and alcohol.
  • Make a good faith effort to secure all available federal post-secondary student financial assistance funds that do not require payment.
