STARS (Students and Teachers As Research Scientists) – The STARS Program offers academically-talented students who are entering their junior or senior year of high school and their teachers a rare opportunity to work within a laboratory research setting with top scientists at the Donald Danforth Plant Science Center, St. Louis University, St. Louis College of Pharmacy, Washington University, and the University of Missouri-St. Louis. For six weeks (Monday June 7 – Friday July 16, 2010) participants join a community of investigators working under the supervision of practicing research scientists. 2010 Missouri Fine Arts Academy (MFAA)

A three-week summer residential program on the campus of Missouri State University for 150 artistically talented rising high school juniors and seniors. Both discipline-specific and interdisciplinary arts instruction is provided, as well as a wide array of performances, student presentations and exhibitions, art shows, workshops, and special events. The Academy will be held from June 6 – June 26, 2010. Students are nominated by their schools and chosen to attend by a panel of artists and educators, using these criteria: GPA = 5 points, Student essay = 25 points; Student Audition/Portfolio = 70 points. MAYA is a summer school academic enrichment program designed for young, high-achieving students who are eager to earn advanced credits and learn in an accelerated and immersed academic environment.
