Mehlville School District students continue to see improved academic performance

Mehlville School District students continue to make gains on Missouri Assessment Program (MAP) tests throughout most grade levels and subjects. In 2025, the Mehlville School District saw more students scoring advanced or proficient on Missouri Assessment Program (MAP) tests across almost all grade levels and subjects.

SLSO Youth Orchestra

Two Mehlville High School students were selected to participate in the Youth Orchestra for the St. Louis Symphony Orchestra.

Golf postseason awards

Four students on the Mehlville High School golf team received postseason honors for their performance on the course this season.

Outstanding Student Leaders

Two students were named Outstanding Student Leaders by the St. Louis County Office of Social and Community Services.

Perfect ACT score

A Mehlville High School student earned a perfect score on the ACT exam.

All-Suburban Honor Choir

Three Mehlville High School students were named to the St. Louis All-Suburban Honor Choir.

Technology upgrades would be funded by Prop A

Without raising the current tax rate, Prop A, on the November 4, 2025, ballot, would help the Mehlville School District fund recurring technology costs that help keep students safe and make sure they are prepared for life after graduation

 Prop A: Ensuring safe, maintained schools for current and future students

The Mehlville School District Board of Education voted unanimously Aug. 21, 2025, to place a levy on the November 4, 2025, ballot that would not increase the current tax rate. Called Proposition A, the levy would fund the upkeep of school roofs, buses, parking lots, technology and safety systems, and HVAC – preserving and protecting district facilities for generations of students.

The Mehlville High School Majorettes twirlers placed first in both categories at the Regional Twirling Championships.

Nine students and coaches on the Mehlville High School baseball team received All-Conference and All-District honors for their performance on the diamond this season.

Several Mehlville School District students medaled at the state level of the SkillsUSA competition through their programs at South Tech High School.

Chess Champion

A Mehlville High School student was crowned the champion of the Gateway Chess League.

Board Approves the Hiring of Two Assistant Superintendents

The Mehlville Board of Education approved the hiring of Dr. Julie Durham as the Assistant Superintendent of Elementary Schools and Dr. Jason Landherr as the Assistant Superintendent of Secondary Schools for the 2025-2026 school year.

Summer Learning is in Session June 2-27, 2025

Mehlville School District will offer its free Summer Session program for all children entering kindergarten through 12th grade, June 2-27, 2025. Registration opens March 3 for grades K-8 and March 25 for high school. Registration instructions will be provided at bit.ly/msdr9summersession.

Lighthouse Award

A Mehlville High School assistant principal received the Lighthouse Award from CHADS Coalition for Mental Health.

Exceptional Educator makes math easy for students to understand
 

Jessica Smith, a math teacher at Mehlville High School, received the Exceptional Educator Award from the Affton-Lemay Chamber of Commerce. This award recognizes teachers from schools in the 63125 ZIP code for professional excellence in the classroom and their dedication to students.

South Tech STAR Awards

Three Mehlville School District students received STAR Awards during November through their program at South Tech High School.

Mehlville School District improves on Missouri Assessment Program scores

n 2024, the Mehlville School District saw more students scoring advanced or proficient on Missouri Assessment Program (MAP) tests across almost all grade levels and subjects.

The district showed the most improvement in middle school math, high school government and seventh-grade English language arts.

Superintendent's Note: November 2024

Our students do unbelievable things everyday, and I am so lucky to get to experience this as I visit our schools. I believe more and more with every passing day, that this is an amazing school district and an unbelievable community. We cannot provide the education for our students at the level we do without community support, and for that I am grateful.

Candidate filing for Board of Education opens December 10, 2024

Any person wishing to file for the Mehlville School District Board of Education may do so at the St. Louis County Board of Elections, 725 Northwest Plaza Dr., St. Ann, MO 63074. Filing will be held Tuesday, December 10, 2024, through Tuesday, December 31, 2024, during regular office hours 8:00 am to 4:30 pm. December 31, 2024, the office will close at 5:00 pm.  They will be closed on December 25, 2024. Please check the county website for any additional dates they may be closed.

Preparing for winter weather and possible “snow days”

In the 2024-2025 school year, Mehlville School District can use up to five virtual learning days if our schools close due to snow or inclement weather. If more than five weather closures occur, the district will use traditional snow days.

Security entrances, HVAC were the focus of summer maintenance in 2024

Mehlville School District students had safer school entrances and more comfortable classrooms at the start of the 2024-2025 school year due to summer construction. Several schools received new security entrances, while others received HVAC upgrades and roof replacements.

MyPath trio explores a career in music education through mentorship

Mehlville High School seniors Sam Herbig, Tyler Langford and Luke Mitchell have shared a love of music since middle school. They’re now exploring how to turn that passion into a career in music education by using the MyPath program to mentor middle school students.
